Prewash Clothes

Today, Chu eee did our laundry.  It finished rather quickly and she transferred the load to the dryer before starting another.  Only to realize she selected "prewash" instead of actual washing.

Dryer, meet soapy clothes.
Soapy clothes, meet dryer.

Transit Day Ticket fail

Today, Chu purchased a transit day pass for $9 dollars.  She paid for it and proceeded to head to Holt for some shopping.  One station later, she recall she did not pick up the day pass from the dispenser.

Chu walked back a few blocks only to confirm the pass was gone.  Visiting the transit office was useless since they weren't able to help.  $9 dollars down the drain :P

Showered Twice in a day

The other night, Bebe had symptoms of a cold, so she ate a Nightquil before bed.

Sometime later, she woke up in sweat and took a shower before heading to work.  However, Bebe was really tired and wondered why.  Turns out it was only 1:30am, and not 6:30am.  So off to bed again for Bebe Chen.

A short while later, she woke up in panic thinking it was 9:30am, and quickly showered a second time.  However... it was really only 5:30 am.  Lesson here?  Pikachu caught a cold!

Camera App is Broken

Tonight, we had a Thanksgiving dinner in a restaurant. Our meals came and Bebe proceeded to take pictures of the food with her phone via the camera app.

She stares at the black screen on her phone and proclaimed her camera app is broken again.

Her finger was covering the camera lens, so of course the screen was black...

This Bebe of mine!

University of Alberta

Bebe wrote a nice letter to the professors of different universities to ask for information for one of her projects. However, she forgot to change and tailor the university name to the corresponding university. All the letters said "University of Alberta"

On another unrelated note. Bebe went to the dentist a whole hour early! The dentist asked her, "You do realize you're an hour early, right?" On top of that, she forgot her wallet and couldn't pay them until the next day.

Bluetooth Keyboard and Mouse Not Working

S. Geek got a fancy Bluetooth keyboard and mouse a little while ago and proceeded to set them up. It took a good hour and she eventually got everything to work as intended. The keyboard informs her the currrent weather condition, it has built-in alarm and calculatator, and could possibly cook dinner.

All is well...

Except it fails to wake up the computer from sleep mode. She had to press the Power button everytime she needs to wake up the computer.

S. Geek contacted the product support and help desk and together they tried numerous things to no avail.

Humble Bee comes to the rescue: "So have you tried plugging in the Bluetooth receiver to the actual computer? It's plugged into the monitor now and that's still asleep."

Guess what? It worked.

Lock and Fail

8:00 AM: Bebe unlocked her locker @homeroom and put stuff in without a hitch

9:30 AM: Bebe Chen, while working out on the Elliptical, Sweetest Geek pondered about life, the universe, and Everything ... and somehow managed to confuse herself and forgot the locker combination.

10:00 AM: Bebe Chen locked herself out of her own locker, having completely forgotten the locker combination (which, if you recall, she successfully opened THAT morning)
12:00 PM: Sweetest Geek tried with no avail to remember the combination. Sadly, 3 ... 6 ... != 42

5:00 PM: Bebe had to get the lock cut to retrieve her bag and key

Epic Fail

This is a story of how a simple online shopping experience could transform into the epic fail of the year. A memorable story about a forgetful Cheekmunk and her adventure to return home.

What seemed like a well thought out of plan of ordering two Dect phones online to save shipping cost returned more than she bargained for. It made perfect sense. Buy the two phones on sale, sell one back at cost and keep the other one.

What wasn't in the plan was selling your house keys to the buyer in the exchange. It took about 5 seconds before SS realized she left the keys in the bag with the phone... calling the buyer yielded no result when he offered to sell the plastic bag recyclable bag back to her and drove off with the keys.

With no keys, she was locked outside and couldn't return home. The resourceful Cheekmunk tried all sorts of ideas. From opening the door with a credit card to prying the windows open with something sharp. At one point, she even brought out the ladder to attack the house from the roof... or at least it seemed that way.

Alas, all was not lost. Almost 2 hours into the the ordeal, our heroic city police arrived to save the day. Couple with a Humble Bee, the courageous Cheekmunk was able to travel across the city to retrieve her keys.

It was a happy hour for her afterward, and an even happier Humble Bee.

24 out of 25 Ain't Bad

Today, SS did an online quiz to get 100% on it. She scored 95% 96% (fail blog Bee can't do math) with 24 out of 25 correct.

Frustrated, she spent the next hour taking notes, applying process of elimination and asked Bee to check all the answers she suspected to be wrong.

So Bee did. And told her the wrong answer was none of the suspected wrong. It was one of the "right" answers she thought was correct.

Frame, Glasses, Mailbox

Eat, Love, Pray

A combination of words which probably makes no sense to anyone who haven't read the book and confuses them more than anything. Which was how I felt yesterday when SS asked whether I picked up her glasses from the mailbox.

Mmm what?

There were two plans.

#1. Keep existing frame
Originally, SS were to put the glasses in the mailbox so I could grab them and drop them off at V. She then picks them up when they're ready in the afternoon.

#2. Try to find a new frame for the glasses, and use current only if necessary

So really, SS just need to bring her own glasses with her, go to the store and pick out a new frame. OR if there's nothing suitable, she would use the old frame with the new lenses. (And I would go pick them up at V when they're ready)

I'll let you guess which plan SS decided to engage that morning...

Unlock Code

"Do I just enter the code into any key pad?" Sweetest Suffering thinks out loud.

** Types in code into the 'compose message' app **

Hmm... it's not working...

Er... Hun, you type that like you would a phone number...

Fail In Progress

SS and I were buying some baby clothes for our upcoming preggo friends at Children's Place.

The cashier, in broken and terrible English, asked us whether we want to sign up for a Reward card for 10% off. (It sounded like an okay deal. How bad could it be, right?)

I went to grab more baby clothes to maximize the 10% additional savings... and came back to find Sweetest turning red and fuming. The cashier was asking her for her passport, her driver's license, her credit card and various pieces of personal identifications.

How odd... what kind of reward card needs that many pieces of personal IDs. I asked her to cancel the application, and she insisted we continue since she's already given so much info already. Hmm...

The cashier calls her HQ and asks for approval... Er... something is terribly wrong. We asked what exactly we were applying for. Is it a credit card? Because if it is, we don't want it.

It was a credit card. GG. Good thing we checked and canceled the darn thing. At least we still got the 10% discount for all the trouble.

3/4

Sweetest Suffering is very important to me. She's more than my other half. She's MY 3/4. hehehe

Mostly because she takes away 3/4 of the blankets!!

SS bumped her head against the freezer this afternoon putting groceries away.

Such a big shrimp head. She forgot her keys at the door again...

Double Sukopwn'd

I was completing my 75% completed sudoku while waiting for the bus, I finished the sudoku... only to find out there were mistakes in it - again!

[ To make things worst ] I looked up, [much to my chagrin] my bus had left the station. I failed in sudoku and I had to walk to work.

Not Her Day

This weekend was just not my bebe's day. Multiple fails...

While paying for her salad, she repeatedly swiped her cards this way and that way when it clearly asked her to Insert Card.

Later when we left the store, she got into the car and slammed the car door onto her hair...

SS is so adorable!

Humpity Dumpity Wallety

Sweetest Suffering sat on a chair
Sweetest Suffering's wallet had a fall
Driving all over the city, retracing all the steps,
Couldn't find Sweetest's wallet again.

A Monday Morning Script

INT. HOME - DAY

A young 10-10-1o man is sitting on the toilet, doing his daily business and texting carefully on a cell phone, lest he drops it.

N82 NOKIA CELL PHONE

Makes a beep and then blank. Nothing.

INT. OFFICE BUILDING - DAY (40 MINUTES LATER)

The same young 10-1o-1o man, HUMBLE BEE, sits down at his desk. Looks at a cell phone and picks up the office phone. He dials a number and the phone on the other line rings.

UPDATE
February 03, 2010.
Sweetest Suffering did not catch a cold or strep throat. She actually cut her throat from eating crab last Friday. In her defense, the crabs were quite good. I ate my share.
