Gondola Fail
After an arduous hike and completing Sulphur Mountain. All of us were ready to take the gondola down. Except for one simple thing.
Accidentally leaving the gf to stand by herself as the gondola I'm in takes off. hahaha... Oops.

Cable Win? (for 6 months)
The 6 month promotion with Shaw is up, and I was debating whether to switch to Bell or not. The current agreement was decent at the time, but we have further needs since (namely, hook up more TV to HD contents.
Current / Old deal:
- HD Plus free for 6 months ($9)
- 2 months of Movie Central ($15 x 2)
- Premium Entertainment Bundle for $39.95 instead of $58.95 for 6 months.
- Free rental of the HD PVR for 6 months (option to purchase it for $349 after, orig price $649)
(I was happy at the time because the monthly invoice actually came out cheaper with the Premium bundle, and I got HD contents for free)
New Deal with Shaw:
- HD Plus free for another 6 months ($9)
- 3 months of SuperChannel free ($15 x 3)
- No premium bundle. We're down to basic, but $19 credit each month
- 1 month Fairchild ($18.95)
- Extreme Internet for $22 for 6 months
- 6 month free rental of HD receiver
- Buy the HD PVR for $249
Bell could probably offer me something similar, but it's an easier path to stay with Shaw. The deal is good, and the savings are great. I guess in 6 months, I will have to switch to Telus or Bell since Shaw will have a difficult time upping the deal they just offered.

Printer Win
So our printer ran out of toner for like 6 months now, and I never bother to refill the toner (didn't even check whether we could). So today, we instead went out and bought a new laser printer. The HP LaserJet 1080. For a whooping $34.99 + $8 environmental fee. It came to $42 dollars, which is still cheaper than getting a new toner or the toner refill.
I think that's a win!

Lunch Box Fail
Took my lunch box home today, but it was empty. I forgot I've used the porcelain container to hold pizza (taken from the kitchen this afternoon) for tomorrow's lunch. No wonder it was so light. So how am I going to carry my lunch container home tomorrow?
At least I didn't get rain on going home today.
(Update: A week later, on a Monday, I finally took home the lunch container)

DVD-ROM Fail
Was installing Adobe Acrobat last night, and forgot to take the plastic sticky off the dvd prior to putting it into the dvd-reader.
Heard a *swoosh* sound and thought to myself ... UH-OH! I could leave it inside, but then the laser might melt the darn thing and start a fire. Better try to take it out.
So in order to do so, I had to uninstall the dvd-rom, remove it and use a clipper to pull the plastic sticky out.

Poop-ed
To wash or not to wash, to clean or not to clean... to poop or not to poop
Just to clear things up first, not my fail... I won't mention a name. Here we have a nice and sparkly car, right out of a premium car wash from a trusted and loyal company. Although the car wash was only at most 45 seconds long, but it was believed to provide long-lasting shine. Yet, ruined by a simple (not so elegant) dropping from a cute flying animal - in less than 10 minutes.
Juice or Slush
Went to Bubble**nia with Bee on Canada Day before the fireworks to kill some time. I wanted some blueberry drink, by that I mean using fresh blueberries to make a drink without any other additives or sugar. I guess I could have asked for 'blueberry juice without sugar' but instead I asked Bee to order "blueberry slush without sugar" ... little did we know, it was blueberry powder with blueberry syrup in slush form. It tasted sweet and watery. Of course, I made my usual complaint to my boyfriend (I know he is enjoying reading this part), he then made another order to server for exactly what I wanted, it was good. Yes, it tasted good. All the fuss for something that could have been simply avoided, if only I said JUICE

The bill came, it said:

Computer Fail
Actually a couple of computer fails this week.
Fail #1 was catching the 'hook' trojan virus -- somewhat embarrassed I actually got a virus. So I figure it would be a good time to format and try the new Windows 7. Formatted the hard drive and ... BAM. Computer doesn't recognize the hard drive anymore. I tried all sorts of tricks like installing Vista instead of Windows 7, and even downgrading back down to Windows XP, but nothing worked. I also tried downloading new drivers and even connecting the kitchen sink to no avail. In the end, I had to go out and buy a new hard drive. Managed to install Windows 7 on it and it's great!! Really enjoying Windows 7.
Fail #2. Windows 7 Ultimate has a new feature called BitLocker that encrypts and protects your hard drive. So the other night, I tried it on my E:\ drive (Hobbes) ... and the next day, it disappeared. What did I meant by 'it disappeared'? Well, my E:\ drive is no longer there and visible in Explorer. The drive is now so secured that even I can't access it. LOL
Ironically, Hobbes is the same drive in Fail #1. Maybe the drive is just a fail.

Noodle Win?
Then I remember there is another nearby noodle house (Phoenix Express ... or whatever it's called). So we went there for rice noodles... I ordered it to go, and this was what I got... LOL 2nd Fail of the Day. It was the saddest soup noodle with rare beef I've eaten. See for yourself. (It tasted alright though, but that was probably because I was so hungry).
So while I thought it was a noodle win it was another noodle fail.
