C-Train Fail

Decided to take the C-train to work this morning (after a half-year hiatus of taking the 301 BRT), and all was well. I had my earphones and music on, took the community bus and arrived at the Dalhousie train station shortly thereafter.

Grabbed the Metro newspaper, and leisurely walked to the train station. I noticed there were no train waiting at the station, so I had time to linger on the 2nd level, reading my newspaper. It's the end of the line, so the trains usually wait at the station...

Next thing I know, a train arrives from the west... and it hit me. The new Crowfoot station! Dalhousie is no longer the last station so there would be no train waiting... So I dashed downstairs, pushing everyone out of the way ... all to no avail as I still missed the train. What a fail.

Rafting Fail

Getting your raft flipped on the Kicking Horse River near Golden is probably not the best way to enjoy white water rafting.

Scrambling for air as the rapids pummel you into the river was frightening.

Reaching the raft, climbing onto it, and leaping into another raft was rewarding.

Surviving the ordeal. Priceless.
